COVID-19 Response

COVID-19 Policy and Preparedness Plan

We are currently back 100% in person, with layered mitigation measures to keep everyone safe and healthy.  Here are some of the steps we are taking to prevent community spread within the school.

  • Mask mandates for all people entering the building, regardless of vaccination status
  • Daily check-in to assess COVID exposure for our teacher, in-class adult volunteers, and all families
  • Daily temperature checks for each person before entering the building (this is done by either the in-class adult volunteer or the parent/guardian of the student)
  • Limited classroom sizes
  • Daily sanitization and cleaning of high-touch areas
  • Monthly deep cleaning of both classrooms
  • Additional outdoor programming built into the curriculum
  • Spacing at snack time
  • Individual snacks and highly used school supplies (playdough, scissors, etc.)
  • Pick up accommodations to limit the number of visitors in the building.

We will survey our family community throughout the year to gauge comfort levels on continuing in person learning, and the potential for a hybrid model in the event of larger community spread.

Hybrid Model Options

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we offer a virtual preschool option for our families at a reduced tuition price consisting of the following:

  • Monthly in-person supply and library book pickup.
    • Preschool activities and instructions are sent home with each student and utilized during the entire month at home. Supplies have included playdough, paints, fine- and gross-motor skill activities, sorting beads, sand art, and even an owl pellet investigation kit in partnership with Blandford Nature Center.
    • Library books are also available for checkout during supply pick-up.
  • Weekly 30-minute Zoom meetings that include storytelling, puppetry, playdough work, action songs, and more. These meetings are led exclusively by our teacher, Kathryn Wilson.

If a majority of families and our teacher choose to resume in-person learning, we will resume our regular preschool experience with the following health and safety adjustments to ensure a safe experience. We will continue to offer the virtual experience for those families who are not ready to return to in-person learning as well.

  • Daily check-in to assess COVID exposure for both our teacher and our in-class adult volunteer, including temperature checks
  • Daily check-in to assess COVID exposure for all families
  • Daily temperature checks for each student before entering the building (this is done by either the in-class adult volunteer or the parent/guardian of the student)
  • Limited classroom size
